Introduction
During the late menstrual period, especially when menstruation has not yet completely ended, there may still be slight vaginal bleeding. Performing a transvaginal B-mode ultrasound examination at this time may affect the accuracy of the results. Additionally, since women's immune function is relatively low during menstruation and the cervix is open, improper operation during the examination may increase the risk of bacteria entering the uterine cavity through the vagina.

Generally, a transvaginal ultrasound refers to transvaginal B-mode ultrasonography. It is not recommended to undergo transvaginal B-mode ultrasonography during the late menstrual period. The specific reasons are as follows:

During the late menstrual period, especially when menstruation has not completely finished, there may still be slight vaginal bleeding. Performing transvaginal B-mode ultrasonography at this time might affect the accuracy of the examination results. Additionally, since a woman's immune system is relatively weakened during menstruation and the cervix is open, improper procedures during the examination might increase the risk of bacteria entering the uterine cavity through the vagina, potentially leading to infection. Therefore, from the perspective of health and safety, it is advisable to wait 2-3 days after the completion of menstruation before undergoing transvaginal B-mode ultrasonography.

In daily life, it is important to maintain personal hygiene, keep the external genitalia clean and dry, and avoid engaging in activities that may increase the risk of infection during menstruation or suspected infection periods in order to maintain gynecological health.
