How to calculate the menstrual cycle
Menstrual period refers to a phase within a woman's menstrual cycle, typically starting from the first day of menstruation and lasting until the day before the next menstrual onset. The menstrual cycle is defined as the time interval from the first day of one menstruation to the first day of the next.
Generally, a woman's menstrual cycle lasts about 28 days, although some women may have shorter or longer cycles, usually ranging between 21 to 35 days. To accurately calculate the menstrual period, a woman should record the start date of each menstrual cycle. Based on these records, she can determine the length of her own menstrual cycle.
For example, if a woman’s period starts on September 1st and the next period begins on September 29th, her menstrual cycle is 28 days long, and her menstrual period spans from September 1st to September 28th. Based on this, if she wishes to predict the timing of her next period, she can add 28 days to the start date of the previous cycle to estimate the expected start date of the next menstruation.
However, it should be noted that a woman's menstrual cycle may be influenced by many factors, such as living environment, dietary habits, physical health, emotional changes, and so on. Therefore, predicted dates may not always be accurate.
