How to treat a burn blister to heal quickly
Generally speaking, there is no such thing as a method to quickly treat a burn blister. Blisters caused by burns can be treated by cooling the burn with running water, removing clothing from the affected area, soaking and cleaning the wound, applying medication, and dressing the wound. Specific methods are as follows:
1. Cooling with running water: Immediately rinse the burned area with cool running water for 15-30 minutes after the burn occurs. This can rapidly reduce the temperature of the burned area and minimize further damage caused by heat. Take care not to use water that is too cold, to avoid frostbite.
2. Removing clothing from the affected area: Carefully remove clothing covering the burned area. If the clothing adheres to the burned skin, do not forcefully pull it off, as this may rupture the blister and worsen the injury. Instead, carefully cut away the clothing with scissors.
3. Soaking and cleaning the wound: Immerse the burned area in cool water for approximately 15-20 minutes. This can further alleviate pain and reduce the severity of the burn. If the burn covers a large area, a clean towel or gauze soaked in cool water can be applied to the affected area as a compress.
4. Applying medication: Under a doctor's guidance, use medications such as moist burn ointment, Jingwanhong ointment, or erythromycin ointment. These medications help remove dead tissue, promote skin regeneration, relieve swelling and pain, and facilitate wound healing and scab formation. Antibiotics such as amoxicillin capsules, levofloxacin hydrochloride tablets, or acetaminophen extended-release tablets may also be used as directed by a physician to prevent infection and relieve pain.
5. Dressing the wound: If the blister is small, it can be gently dressed with sterile gauze after disinfection. Keep the gauze clean and dry during dressing, and avoid rubbing the blister. Dressing helps prevent bacterial invasion and creates a favorable environment for wound healing.
During treatment, avoid touching the burned area with your hands to prevent infection. Keep the burned area clean and dry, and avoid contact with water.
