This medication enhances local antiviral activity in cervical tissue, thereby facilitating viral clearance. If cervical secretions testing reveals infection with a high-risk HPV type, physicians typically recommend concurrent cervical cytology examination.

clinicians typically recommend concurrent cervical cytology testing—commonly referred to as liquid-based cytology (LCT) or thin-layer cytology (TCT). If cytological abnormalities are absent and only high-risk HPV infection is detected, targeted local therapy using interferon suppositories administered vaginally or cervically may be indicated.

During local administration, maintaining external genital hygiene is essential. Suppositories are generally recommended for nighttime use, as their relatively large particle size necessitates adequate time for absorption. Lying down at night minimizes gravitational displacement of the medication, thereby reducing premature expulsion and optimizing therapeutic efficacy.

Additionally, during treatment, patients should maintain regular sleep-wake cycles and avoid staying up late to bolster immune function. Sexual intercourse and tub bathing should be avoided throughout the treatment period. Suppository use must be discontinued during menstruation. A light, balanced diet rich in vegetables and fruits supports overall health and immunity, thereby aiding clearance of HPV infection from the vagina and cervix.
