Cystatin C 1.40 mg/L is generally not considered severe. However, if the patient's other kidney function indicators, such as serum creatinine or blood urea nitrogen, are abnormal, or if the patient exhibits symptoms of kidney disease such as edema, hypertension, frequent or urgent urination, further examination and diagnosis are needed even if cystatin C levels are normal.
