Beer contains alcohol, which promotes uric acid production and inhibits its excretion. Consuming both together increases uric acid accumulation in the body, raising the risk of gout attacks, especially in individuals with abnormal uric acid metabolism.

Generally, seafood and beer are not recommended to be consumed together.

Additionally, seafood is considered cold in nature, and beer is also a cooling beverage. Consuming large amounts of both together can irritate the gastrointestinal tract, leading to digestive issues such as abdominal pain and diarrhea, especially in individuals with weak gastrointestinal function.

When consuming seafood and beer, it is advisable to avoid ingesting them simultaneously. It is recommended to space them 2 to 3 hours apart. Drinking plenty of warm water after eating seafood can help promote metabolism. Individuals with high uric acid levels or gastrointestinal discomfort should strictly control their seafood intake and avoid beer altogether.
