Mushrooms contain abundant dietary fiber and polysaccharides, which can irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa when consumed in excess.

5. Elevated gout risk: Mushrooms are considered moderately high in purines. Overconsumption can raise uric acid levels in the body, increasing the risk of acute gout attacks. Individuals with gout or hyperuricemia should exercise particular caution.

Mushroom intake should be controlled—50–100 grams per serving is recommended. Choose fresh mushrooms and ensure they are thoroughly cooked before consumption.
