Introduction
Avoid exercise within 1 week after strabismus surgery. Light activities such as walking may be resumed between 1 to 2 weeks postoperatively. Moderate-intensity exercises like jogging and ball games can gradually be resumed one month after surgery, provided a follow-up examination confirms good recovery. Vigorous exercise is not recommended within the first 3 months. If eye pain, redness, swelling, or vision fluctuations occur after exercising, prompt medical attention is advised.

Avoid exercise within the first week after strabismus surgery. Light activities such as walking are permissible from 1 to 2 weeks postoperatively. Moderate-intensity exercises like jogging or ball sports may gradually resume one month after surgery, provided a follow-up examination confirms good recovery. Strenuous physical activity is not recommended within the first three months. If eye pain, redness, swelling, or vision fluctuations occur after exercise, seek medical attention promptly.

The first postoperative week is a critical period for wound healing and reduction of ocular swelling. Physical movement during exercise and sweat irritation may contaminate the surgical site, and facial muscle contractions could affect the eye sutures, increasing the risk of infection or wound dehiscence. Therefore, all physical activity should be completely avoided during this time.

By 1–2 weeks after surgery, the wound has generally healed and periorbital swelling begins to subside; however, ocular tissues remain fragile. Vigorous exercise may exacerbate ocular congestion or lead to accidental trauma to the operated eye. At this stage, low-intensity activities such as walking or slow-paced movement are acceptable, but rapid head turns, jumping, or similar movements should be avoided.

During exercise, take care to prevent sweat from entering the eyes—wearing sunglasses can help protect the eyes. Avoid any sports involving physical contact. After exercising, wash the face promptly to maintain ocular hygiene. Additionally, limit exercise duration and avoid overexertion.
