Introduction
After undergoing laser surgery, if myopia recurs, it can be managed through timely optometric examination, adjusting eye usage habits, wearing corrective glasses, evaluating the need for a second surgery, and visual function training. Interventions should be scientifically determined based on the degree of myopia and overall eye condition. If sudden vision loss, eye pain, or visual distortion occurs, prompt medical attention is recommended. A comprehensive eye exam should be performed to accurately determine the new degree of myopia.

After undergoing laser surgery, if myopia recurs, it can be managed through timely refraction examination, adjusting eye-use habits, wearing corrective glasses, evaluation for secondary surgery, and visual function training. Interventions should be scientifically determined based on the degree of myopia and overall eye condition. If sudden vision loss, eye pain, or visual distortion occurs, prompt medical attention is recommended.

1. Timely Refraction Examination: Perform a comprehensive medical eye exam to determine the updated degree of myopia, astigmatism, and corneal condition. This helps rule out abnormalities such as corneal disease and provides accurate guidance for further treatment, avoiding inappropriate or blind interventions.

2. Adjust Eye-Use Habits: Reduce prolonged near-work activities, avoid staying up late and excessive use of electronic devices. Maintain proper reading and writing posture with appropriate viewing distances to relieve eye strain and prevent further progression of myopia.

3. Wear Corrective Glasses: For individuals with low degrees of myopia or those temporarily unsuitable for a second surgery, wearing eyeglasses or contact lenses can effectively correct vision, meet daily visual needs, and reduce excessive accommodative strain on the eyes.

4. Evaluation for Secondary Surgery: If at least 1–2 years have passed since the initial surgery, myopia has stabilized, and corneal thickness and other parameters meet surgical criteria, a secondary laser procedure or intraocular lens implantation may be considered after thorough evaluation by an ophthalmologist to correct residual myopia.

5. Visual Function Training: Techniques such as accommodation sensitivity exercises and alternating focus between near and far objects can improve the eye’s focusing ability, reduce visual fatigue, and help control the progression of myopia—particularly beneficial for mild recurrent myopia caused by poor visual habits.

In daily life, maintain a regular sleep schedule, prevent eye injuries and infections, undergo routine eye examinations to monitor vision changes, consume a diet rich in lutein and vitamins, and avoid using eyes in excessively bright or dim lighting conditions to protect eye health after surgery.
