Rifampicin eye drops, commonly known as rifampicin for ophthalmic use, can be used in children. However, it is only indicated for treating ocular infections such as conjunctivitis and keratitis caused by susceptible bacteria, and must be used properly under a doctor's guidance. Self-medication is not recommended. If symptoms such as worsening eye redness or swelling, rash, or other discomfort occur after using the medication, prompt medical attention is advised.

Rifampicin for ophthalmic use is an antibiotic effective against eye infections caused by susceptible organisms such as *Mycobacterium tuberculosis* and *Staphylococcus*. Children are not absolutely contraindicated for this medication; however, due to their immature liver and kidney functions, the dosage and duration of treatment must be strictly controlled.

For young children, especially infants under 3 years old, administration should be assisted by an adult to prevent excessive amounts of the solution entering the eye or accidental ingestion. Before use, ensure the child has no history of allergy to the medication. Regular follow-up examinations are necessary during treatment, and the doctor will adjust the treatment plan according to the clinical response to prevent the development of drug resistance.

Hands should be thoroughly washed before administering the medication to a child. Ensure the solution has not expired, and avoid contact between the dropper tip and the eye. After instillation, the child should keep the eyes closed for a short period to promote absorption. Maintain good ocular hygiene, avoid rubbing the eyes, and follow a light diet to support recovery.
