What preparations should the patient make before entering the hyperbaric oxygen chamber?
1. Before each hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) session, proactively inform the HBO chamber medical staff of any changes in your condition. If you experience any discomfort during the session, promptly notify the medical staff so that necessary observation, examination, or treatment can be provided.
2. Prior to entering the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, you must wear the designated chamber gown and change into 100% cotton undergarments. Clothing made from synthetic fibers—such as spandex, acrylic, nylon, or wool—that may generate static sparks is strictly prohibited inside the chamber.
3. Matches, lighters, car keys, mobile phones, battery-powered toys, gasoline, and other flammable, explosive, or electronic items are strictly prohibited inside the chamber. Wristwatches, hearing aids, fountain pens, and similar items are also not recommended, as they may be damaged during pressurization.
4. Eat a regular meal before entering the chamber. Avoid consuming gas-producing foods prior to the session—such as carbonated beverages, soy products, or radishes—and ensure you have emptied your bladder and bowels before entering the chamber.
