Introduction
There is no such thing as “the fastest-acting drug for treating adenovirus.” Medications commonly used to treat adenoviral infections include ribavirin granules, acyclovir tablets, ganciclovir tablets, Lianhua Qingwen capsules, and methylprednisolone tablets—use should always follow a physician’s instructions. In certain adenovirus-related diseases, such as adenoviral pneumonia, ribavirin may be employed as part of the treatment regimen.

There is no such thing as “the fastest-acting drug for treating adenovirus.” Commonly used medications for adenovirus infection include ribavirin granules, acyclovir tablets, ganciclovir tablets, Lianhua Qingwen capsules, and methylprednisolone tablets. Patients should use these medications strictly as prescribed by their physician.

1. Ribavirin Granules

This is a broad-spectrum antiviral agent that inhibits viral nucleic acid synthesis, thereby interfering with adenovirus replication. Ribavirin granules may be used in the treatment of certain adenovirus-associated diseases, such as adenoviral pneumonia.

2. Acyclovir Tablets

This drug primarily inhibits viral replication by interfering with viral DNA polymerase. Although acyclovir is mainly indicated for herpesvirus infections, it may offer adjunctive therapeutic benefits in some cases of adenovirus infection.

3. Ganciclovir Tablets

Ganciclovir shares a similar mechanism of action with acyclovir and is a nucleoside antiviral agent. It competitively inhibits viral DNA polymerase, thereby terminating viral DNA chain elongation. Ganciclovir may be considered—particularly in immunocompromised patients—for the management of adenovirus infection.

4. Lianhua Qingwen Capsules

This traditional Chinese medicine formulation possesses heat-clearing, detoxifying, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is commonly used to treat viral illnesses such as influenza and the common cold, and may provide adjunctive support in adenovirus infection.

5. Methylprednisolone Tablets

Methylprednisolone is a systemic corticosteroid used to treat ocular and respiratory disorders. In adenovirus infection, it can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms and promote resolution of inflammation.

During recovery, patients should follow a light, bland diet and avoid spicy or irritating foods—such as garlic, spicy hotpot, and mustard—and ensure adequate rest to prevent excessive fatigue, which may impair overall health.
