Treatment Options for Early-Stage Lymphoma
Lymphoma is a relatively serious disease that can occur at any age. It is generally associated with genetic mutations, viral infections, radiation exposure, and contact with certain chemical agents. So, what are the treatment options for early-stage lymphoma? Let’s explore this together.
Treatment Options for Early-Stage Lymphoma
For early-stage lymphoma, the standard approach is a comprehensive treatment strategy combining chemotherapy and radiotherapy, with chemotherapy as the primary modality. Lymphomas are broadly classified into two major categories: Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Different chemotherapy regimens are employed depending on the specific lymphoma subtype.

For Hodgkin lymphoma, common chemotherapy regimens include MOPP or ABVD. Chemotherapy for early-stage HL is generally highly effective, achieving complete remission rates of over 70–80%. Radiotherapy may be added to the treatment plan, typically delivered via extended-field irradiation.
For non-Hodgkin lymphoma, commonly used chemotherapy regimens include CHOP or COP. In selected patients with early-stage NHL, biological therapies may also be considered. Additionally, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation remains an option for certain patients.
