Introduction
In recent years, the incidence of scrotal dermatitis has shown a yearly upward trend. Scrotal dermatitis is associated with autonomic nervous system dysfunction—such as excessive anxiety, depression, and emotional excitement—and environmental changes may contribute to the development of neurodermatitis of the scrotum. Modern medicine offers numerous treatment options for scrotal dermatitis. However, while actively pursuing treatment, patients often overlook essential nursing measures for this condition. So, how should scrotal dermatitis be managed?

In recent years, the incidence of scrotal dermatitis has been rising annually. Scrotal dermatitis is associated with autonomic nervous system dysfunction—such as excessive anxiety, depression, and hyperexcitability—and environmental changes may trigger neurodermatitis of the scrotum. Modern medicine offers numerous treatment options for scrotal dermatitis. However, while actively treating this condition, patients often overlook essential nursing measures. So, how should scrotal dermatitis be managed?

Nursing Measures for Scrotal Dermatitis

1. Select appropriate antibiotics. For acute scrotal dermatitis, antibiotic therapy should continue for 1–2 weeks after all symptoms have completely resolved. For chronic cases, treatment must extend beyond four weeks to consolidate therapeutic effects. Based on clinical experience, intravenous administration of cephalosporins or quinolones (e.g., ofloxacin) yields favorable outcomes.

2. Bed rest: To maintain regular bowel movements, laxatives may be taken under medical supervision.

3. Limit sexual activity: To reduce genital congestion. Patients with chronic scrotal dermatitis may undergo regular (once or twice weekly) seminal vesicle and prostate massage. This serves two purposes: first, to improve blood circulation in the prostate and seminal vesicles; second, to facilitate the drainage of inflammatory exudates.

4. Maintain a regular lifestyle: Balance work and rest; avoid smoking, alcohol, and spicy or irritating foods.

Men diagnosed with scrotal dermatitis are advised to seek prompt medical evaluation and follow prescribed treatment under physician guidance, while adhering strictly to recommended nursing measures. Self-medication should be avoided to prevent potentially irreversible complications.
