Introduction
Buzhong Yiqi Wan—literally “Pill for Reinforcing the Spleen and Stomach and Augmenting Qi”—is primarily used to nourish the blood. Its main herbal ingredients include Angelica sinensis (Danggui) and Codonopsis pilosula (Dangshen), both of which are tonifying herbs. It is highly effective for individuals with spleen- and stomach-qi deficiency, malnutrition, or anemia, and is also suitable for patients with chronic diseases. People with general physical debility—especially postpartum women—may benefit significantly from appropriate use, as it helps strengthen constitution. However, it is contraindicated in patients with hypertension, heart disease, or other related cardiovascular conditions.

Most women experience deficiency of Qi and Blood, a condition that can cause various physical discomforts. Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan (Tonify the Spleen and Augment the Qi Pill) is commonly used for treatment. What are the therapeutic effects of Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan?

Therapeutic Effects of Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan

Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan primarily functions to tonify the Spleen and Stomach and augment Qi. It is therefore mainly indicated for conditions arising from Spleen- and Stomach-Qi deficiency, such as chronic diarrhea, prolapse of the rectum, uterine prolapse, and other disorders associated with sinking of the Middle-Qi. It demonstrates excellent clinical efficacy for symptoms including fatigue, poor appetite, abdominal distension, loose stools, chronic diarrhea, rectal prolapse, and uterine prolapse.

As its name suggests, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan primarily nourishes Qi and Blood. Its main herbal ingredients include Dang Gui (Chinese Angelica root) and Dang Shen (Codonopsis root), both of which are tonic herbs. It is especially suitable—and highly effective—for individuals with Spleen- and Stomach-Qi deficiency, malnutrition, or anemia, as well as for patients with chronic diseases or general constitutional weakness. Postpartum women, in particular, may benefit significantly from appropriate use, as it helps strengthen their constitution. However, patients with hypertension or heart disease must avoid this formula, as it may pose serious health risks and potentially exacerbate their conditions. Children and women should only take this medication under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional; excessive or frequent dosing must be strictly avoided. Additionally, maintaining a positive and relaxed mood during treatment is recommended—avoid prolonged emotional distress or depression.

During oral administration of this medication, patients should consume light, easily digestible foods and avoid spicy, stimulating, or greasy foods. Maintaining a cheerful and calm mindset is also important—excessive anxiety or stress should be minimized. We hope this information proves helpful to you.
