For individuals who drink alcohol frequently, I suggest regularly steeping goji berries (Lycium barbarum) in hot water for consumption. Goji berries not only help protect the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems but also aid in repairing damaged liver cells and safeguarding hepatic function. Elevated blood glucose levels pose particular risks for regular drinkers; therefore, goji berries may offer certain benefits in such cases. However, please strictly avoid alcohol consumption if blood glucose levels are high—this is a firm medical recommendation.

In daily life, many people suffer from diabetes, which causes significant harm to their physical health and severely impacts their quality of life and work performance. They may also benefit individuals with elevated blood glucose levels—particularly those who drink alcohol regularly. Nevertheless, people with high blood sugar should generally avoid alcohol altogether.

People with diabetes should select healthy foods that are nutritionally balanced and rich in essential nutrients, yet low in excessive calories. Their staple foods should combine refined and whole grains—for example, rice, steamed buns, dumplings, wontons, noodles, or thin porridge—while paying careful attention to portion control. Whole grains must constitute a substantial proportion of their diet, such as whole-grain cereals, barley, wheat, corn, and millet. Starchy root vegetables—including potatoes, Chinese yam, sweet potatoes, and purple sweet potatoes—are also suitable. Legumes—such as mung beans, red beans, and soybeans—can be incorporated into diverse, diabetes-friendly meals.
