I’ve been experiencing gum pain for the past two days. A friend suggested it might be due to wisdom teeth coming in. When do wisdom teeth typically erupt?

Wisdom teeth typically erupt between the ages of 18 and 25, though the exact timing varies from person to person. Their eruption is generally a normal physiological process; however, it commonly causes gingival swelling and pain, facial edema, and limited mouth opening. Due to individual differences in constitution, the timing of wisdom tooth eruption may vary—most often occurring between ages 18 and 25. If a wisdom tooth is malpositioned, extraction is usually recommended.
