A normal heart rate for a 1.5-year-old child is 100–120 beats per minute. Heart rate may also increase after physical activity. Additionally, check whether the child has a fever, as fever can likewise elevate heart rate. If none of these factors apply, it is advisable to visit a hospital for an electrocardiogram (ECG) and cardiac enzyme tests to rule out myocarditis. Ensure adequate rest and encourage the child to drink plenty of warm water. Also, keep the child warm and prevent exposure to cold.
