What Causes Sciatica?
Disease description:
Recently, I have been experiencing sciatica, which has caused me significant distress. What causes sciatica?
Most cases of sciatica are caused by trauma, though pregnancy can also be a contributing factor. Trauma can directly injure the soft tissues surrounding the sciatic nerve, often accompanied by hematoma formation and even severe irritation, thereby triggering pain. Additionally, during pregnancy, excessive fetal weight or size may compress pelvic nerves, potentially leading to sciatic nerve pain.
