Is it normal for pseudocondyloma acuminatum to be very itchy?
Disease description:
I’ve recently experienced itching in my genital area, along with small bumps. I suspect it might be pseudocondyloma acuminatum (pseudo-warts). Is itching common with pseudocondyloma acuminatum?
Pseudocondyloma acuminatum is typically not associated with significant pruritus (itching); therefore, pronounced itching is generally considered abnormal. If itching occurs, it may be due to an inflammatory or infectious process. In such cases, appropriate anti-inflammatory treatment—such as oral levofloxacin—may be considered. However, if symptoms persist or fail to improve, prompt medical evaluation at a hospital is essential to conduct comprehensive examinations and rule out other potential pathological conditions.
