The Best Foods for Ovarian Health
Disease description:
I feel like I’m aging rapidly lately. I’ve heard that ovarian health can be maintained through diet—could you tell me the best foods for supporting ovarian health?
Generally, no specific foods have been scientifically proven to effectively “nourish” or preserve ovarian function. In women aged 14 to 49 years, the ovaries typically ovulate normally; as long as menstrual cycles are regular and no discomfort or symptoms are present, ovarian “maintenance” is unnecessary. After age 49, ovarian function gradually declines, potentially leading to menstrual irregularities or menopause, and possibly menopausal syndrome—including autonomic nervous system dysfunction. At this stage, it may be beneficial to moderately increase intake of foods naturally rich in phytoestrogens.
