Will nasal implants deform?
Disease description:
I underwent rhinoplasty a while ago, and recently I’ve noticed that my nose appears somewhat deformed. Therefore, I’d like to know: can nasal implants become deformed?
In most cases, rhinoplasty with implants does not cause deformation, primarily because the implant materials—silicone and expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE)—are physically stable and do not deform within the human body. Deformation may occur due to inadequate surgical experience or improper technique by the surgeon, or it may result from inadequate postoperative care by the patient.
