A baby’s gastrointestinal function is relatively delicate; therefore, when switching to a new formula, avoid an abrupt change to prevent diarrhea. Instead, transition gradually. Begin by mixing a small amount of the new formula with the old one and observe your baby’s response. Gradually increase the proportion of the new formula over time until your baby is fully transitioned to it.
