Does Coffee Cause Cancer?
Disease description:
I drink coffee frequently, but I’ve heard some claims that coffee can cause cancer—Is this actually true?
Coffee is a common beverage that offers numerous health benefits when consumed in moderation. Studies suggest it may help reduce the risk of several types of cancer, including liver, breast, gallbladder, and endometrial cancers. Therefore, moderate coffee consumption can be beneficial to health. Under normal circumstances, coffee itself is not carcinogenic. However, it does contain acrylamide—a known carcinogen—which may slightly increase cancer risk. The amount of acrylamide in coffee is very low, and drinking coffee in reasonable quantities poses no significant carcinogenic risk.
