Patients with gout may consume duck meat in moderation. Gout primarily results from poorly controlled long-term hyperuricemia, leading to deposition of urate crystals in soft tissues, joints, and kidneys. Uric acid is a metabolic byproduct of purines; therefore, dietary management focuses on restricting high-purine foods. Such foods mainly include animal offal, seafood, and certain meats—particularly pork, beef, and lamb.
