How to Differentiate Between Mosquito Bite Bumps and Allergic Reaction Bumps
Disease description:
My daughter is 12 years old. Recently, she developed pimples on her body accompanied by unusual itching—initially thought to be mosquito bites—but her symptoms have not improved. After visiting the hospital, she was diagnosed with an allergic reaction. I would like to know how to distinguish between insect bite bumps and allergic bumps.
Allergic reactions are common and often manifest as numerous papular rashes, which may be scattered over erythematous plaques. Bites typically occur on exposed areas of the body; however, allergic reactions are not limited to these areas and may also appear on non-exposed skin. If bitten by insects, applying gasoline or similar substances may provide temporary relief. However, if an allergic reaction occurs, it is essential to identify its underlying cause; once the allergen is identified and avoided, symptoms usually resolve spontaneously. Patients presenting with these symptoms are advised to seek timely medical evaluation to determine the precise cause and receive appropriate, targeted treatment.
