Dr. Xie Zixing
There are numerous nasal diseases that can affect children. Because infants and young children have particularly low immune resistance, their noses are highly susceptible to adverse external factors, making them prone to infections caused by various microorganisms—such as nasal furuncles, vestibulitis of the nose, and inflammation of the nasal cavity and sinuses. The nasal cavity serves both as an entry point for allergens into the body and as a primary site for allergic reactions; thus, conditions like pollinosis (hay fever) and allergic rhinitis are common. Additionally, certain oral diseases—such as dental root infections—can lead to odontogenic maxillary sinusitis. Moreover, the external nose is centrally located on the face and therefore especially vulnerable to trauma. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health!
