I have developed psoriasis on my back and am currently undergoing treatment. I’m worried that the psoriasis might spread to my family members—can psoriasis be transmitted to others?

Psoriasis is not contagious and cannot be transmitted to others. It is a chronic, stubborn skin condition but is not infectious—there is no need to worry about transmission. While psoriasis itself is not contagious, it does have a certain genetic predisposition. Complete and permanent cure is extremely difficult, and the recurrence rate is relatively high. Therefore, it is recommended that patients undergo systematic, course-based treatment—including both pharmacological therapy and physical modalities such as laser therapy.
