Scabies is curable, and sulfur ointment can be used for topical treatment. Patients are advised to apply sulfur ointment over the entire body before bedtime to kill the scabies mites. Because scabies is highly contagious, patients should use personal items exclusively and thoroughly sun-dry and disinfect bedding, sheets, clothing, and other personal belongings.
