Last menstrual period: February 16 — What is the estimated due date?
Disease description:
I’m not far along in my pregnancy yet, and I’d like to start preparing the items needed for delivery and for the baby’s arrival based on the estimated due date. Could you please tell me—given that my last menstrual period was on February 16, what is my estimated due date?
For women with regular menstrual cycles, the estimated due date (EDD) is calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP), adding 280 days (40 weeks). Alternatively, you can subtract 3 months (or add 9 months) to the LMP month and add 7 days to the LMP date. Thus, for a last menstrual period beginning on February 16, the estimated due date is November 23. It is considered normal for the actual delivery date to vary by 1–2 weeks from the estimated due date. During pregnancy, ensure adequate sleep and a balanced, nutritious diet.
