For women with regular menstrual cycles, the estimated due date (EDD) is calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP), adding 280 days (40 weeks). Alternatively, you can subtract 3 months (or add 9 months) to the LMP month and add 7 days to the LMP date. Thus, for a last menstrual period beginning on February 16, the estimated due date is November 23. It is considered normal for the actual delivery date to vary by 1–2 weeks from the estimated due date. During pregnancy, ensure adequate sleep and a balanced, nutritious diet.
