How to Effectively Eliminate Axillary Odor
Disease description:
I’ve had axillary osmidrosis (body odor) since childhood, and as I’ve grown older, the symptoms seem to have worsened—making social interactions quite embarrassing. Could you please advise on effective ways to eliminate this condition?
Mild axillary odor can be masked with antiperspirant deodorant sticks, antiperspirant sprays, and other similar products, along with maintaining good underarm hygiene. For more severe cases, pharmacological treatment is required—for example, calamine lotion (which has astringent and antiperspirant properties) or aluminum chloride solution (which has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects). Always follow your physician’s instructions when using these medications. If drug therapy proves ineffective, alternative approaches—such as microwave thermolysis or surgical excision of the apocrine glands—may be considered to eliminate the odor.
