What materials are best for dental prosthetics?
Disease description:
I have a decayed tooth that’s constantly painful. It needs to be extracted, followed by dental restoration (prosthetic replacement). What is the best material for the restoration?
For dental prostheses, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) alloys are a preferable choice. PFM materials are relatively hard, closely resemble natural teeth in color, and offer reasonable cost-effectiveness. Nickel-chromium alloy-based PFM restorations, for instance, are widely used in dentistry. After prosthodontic treatment, these restorations provide chewing function comparable to that of natural teeth. It is recommended to seek treatment at large, reputable Grade-A, Class-3 hospitals or licensed dental hospitals.
