What Causes Hot Hands and Feet Along with Dry Mouth and Thirsty, Dry Tongue?
Disease description:
I am 32 years old this year. Every night, my hands and feet feel hot, I often sweat, have poor appetite, and frequently wake up in the middle of the night feeling thirsty. I would like to know the underlying cause of hot hands and feet accompanied by dry mouth and throat.
Feeling heat in the hands and feet, along with dry mouth and throat, may stem from two primary causes. First, irregular daily diet and sleep patterns over an extended period can impair spleen and stomach function, leading to general discomfort and impaired absorption of essential nutrients from food—resulting in internal heat. Second, this condition may reflect blood deficiency and yin depletion. In individuals with constitutional weakness or those recovering from a serious illness, latent blood loss and failure of healthy qi (zheng qi) to recover can manifest as heat in the hands and feet, mental fatigue, and dry mouth and throat. Treatment requires herbal therapy that nourishes yin and clears heat, and must be administered under the guidance of a qualified specialist.
