Since experiencing palpitations, I’ve constantly felt something “off” throughout my body and suspect it’s caused by the palpitations. I’d like to know what harm palpitations can cause to the body.

Palpitations can cause systemic organ ischemia and hypoxia. During arrhythmias, frequent ventricular premature contractions impair cardiac ejection. Paroxysmal tachycardia may lead to hypotension or even hypotensive shock. Physiological palpitations are generally benign and not alarming; however, pathological palpitations warrant prompt medical attention and timely treatment.
