Differences Between Common Warts and Genital Warts
Disease description:
Recently, I developed several flesh-colored small bumps in the perineal area. I’m unsure whether they are common warts or genital warts—what are the differences between them?
Common warts and genital warts differ in several aspects. Their locations of growth differ: common warts typically occur on non-genital areas, such as the face, back of the hands, and fingers, whereas genital warts usually develop on the genitalia or perianal region. Their clinical presentations also differ: common warts appear as keratotic papules—firm, rough-surfaced lesions—while genital warts present as soft, moist papules.
