Is mumps-associated swelling very painful?
Disease description:
I was recently diagnosed with mumps, and swelling has occurred. Is the swelling associated with mumps very painful?
Mumps-related swelling can be quite painful. Mumps is an infectious disease that commonly causes lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes) and may be accompanied by significant pain. Under a physician’s guidance, patients may appropriately use antibiotics such as amoxicillin capsules for treatment; ibuprofen sustained-release capsules may also be used to effectively control the disease. During treatment, gentle massage may be performed as appropriate.
