I’ve recently developed recurrent oral ulcers, and my doctor mentioned that it might be Behçet’s disease. What are the differences between Behçet’s disease and oral ulcers?

The primary distinction between Behçet’s disease and oral ulcers lies in their clinical presentations. Behçet’s disease is an autoimmune disorder that, upon onset, may cause ulcerations in the oral cavity, skin, and genital organs, as well as uveitis (inflammation of the uveal tract) and other ocular manifestations. In contrast, oral ulcers refer specifically to ulcerations confined to the oral cavity.
