Hello, morphine is an opioid analgesic primarily used for managing moderate to severe pain. It can be employed for cancer-related pain relief as well as postoperative pain management. However, morphine exerts respiratory depressant effects and may cause spasm of the sphincter of Oddi; therefore, it is not recommended for patients with respiratory failure or biliary tract disorders.
