Early Symptoms of Acute Leukemia
Disease description:
I’ve been experiencing persistent body pain and severe joint swelling recently—could this be leukemia? Doctor, what are the early symptoms of acute leukemia?
Hello,
Anemia is often the initial symptom of leukemia. Approximately half of patients present with severe anemia at their first medical visit. Common manifestations include pallor, fatigue, drowsiness, and generalized weakness—symptoms that progress gradually and correlate with the severity of anemia.
Bleeding is another early manifestation, occurring in over 50% of patients. The severity varies widely, and bleeding may occur at any site throughout the body. Clinical presentations include petechiae and ecchymoses, epistaxis, gingival bleeding, menorrhagia, and retinal hemorrhage.
We hope the above information is helpful to you. Wishing you a pleasant and healthy life!
