What Are Cervical Nabothian Cysts?
Disease description:
I went to the hospital for a check-up today, and the results showed cervical nabothian cysts. I would like to know what cervical nabothian cysts are.
Cervical Nabothian cysts, also known as cervical glandular cysts, typically arise when the openings of cervical glands become obstructed due to inflammatory stimulation. This obstruction impedes the normal drainage of glandular secretions, causing them to accumulate within the gland. Over time, this accumulation leads to the formation of a cyst—namely, a cervical Nabothian cyst. If asymptomatic, no treatment is generally required. However, if symptoms develop, management should be guided by a physician’s recommendations.
