Are cervical polyps the same as “sitting the month” (postpartum confinement)?

Disease description:

During cervical polyp removal, I’ve been experiencing continuous bleeding and feel the need for substantial rest—similar to the postpartum recovery period (“xiao yue zi”). I’d like to ask: Is recovery from cervical polyp removal equivalent to “xiao yue zi”?

They are different. If a patient develops a disease, it is typically distinct from postpartum confinement (sitting the month). To prevent recurrence of small polyps, it is essential to keep warm. Therefore, after cervical polypectomy, sexual intercourse must be avoided for one month. Abortion is a procedure performed inside the uterine cavity; in contrast, cervical polyps—when confined to the cervix and not extending into the uterine cavity—do not cause intrauterine inflammation. The surgical scope of an abortion is significantly larger, and the wound size is considerably greater than that of a cervical polypectomy.
