How are multiple small nodules in both lungs treated?
Disease description:
I undergo a CT scan every three months; however, this time the examination revealed small pulmonary nodules. How are multiple small nodules in both lungs treated?
Multiple small pulmonary nodules in both lungs can be treated with medications and/or surgical interventions. First, the underlying cause of the bilateral pulmonary nodules must be clearly identified. If the nodules result from inflammatory or infectious processes, anti-infective therapy is required; if caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, antituberculous treatment is necessary. For small nodules arising from pulmonary tumors, surgical intervention is typically indicated.
