How is sinusitis treated?
Disease description:
My friend has recently been experiencing nasal congestion frequently, and the doctor diagnosed it as sinusitis. I’d like to learn more about how sinusitis is treated.
Sinusitis: Patients may take antibiotic medications—such as metronidazole tablets—under a physician’s guidance. Additionally, mometasone furoate nasal spray can be used as adjunctive therapy to help alleviate the aforementioned symptoms. In cases of severe disease, prompt referral to an otolaryngology (ENT) department for endoscopic sinus surgery is recommended to prevent further disease progression.
