What examinations are included in gastrointestinal testing?

There are numerous tests available for gastrointestinal evaluation. Initial screening tests include complete blood count (CBC), coagulation function tests, urinalysis, and stool routine examination. Additional diagnostic tests include the carbon-14 urea breath test, which detects *Helicobacter pylori* infection—a known risk factor for gastric cancer. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy provide direct visualization of the gastrointestinal tract and are highly effective in diagnosing conditions such as gastritis, gastric ulcers, gastric cancer, colitis, colorectal cancer, and colorectal polyps.
