How long does chronic keratitis take to heal?
Disease description:
I have been diagnosed with chronic keratitis, which is affecting my daily life and work. I would like to ask: How long does it typically take for chronic keratitis to resolve?
Chronic keratitis typically resolves within approximately three months. Chronic conjunctivitis develops from acute conjunctivitis or may result from infection with low-virulence pathogens, commonly associated with conditions such as nasolacrimal duct obstruction or chronic dacryocystitis. Treatment of this condition begins with elimination of the underlying cause and initiation of anti-infective therapy. In the early stage of the disease, broad-spectrum antibiotics should be administered; once the causative pathogen is identified, targeted antibiotic therapy based on culture and sensitivity testing should be implemented.
