How many days after conception can a pregnancy test strip detect pregnancy?
I’m currently trying to conceive and recently purchased some early pregnancy test strips. I’d like to know how many days after conception the test strips can detect pregnancy.
Pregnancy can typically be detected with a home pregnancy test around day 37 of gestation (i.e., approximately 23 days after conception). Fertilized eggs usually implant in the uterine lining about 6–7 days after intercourse, and implantation is generally completed within 6–11 days. If the test displays two lines, pregnancy is likely; if the two lines differ in intensity (one dark, one faint), this may indicate a weak positive result—retesting after one additional day is recommended. If the result is negative but menstruation has not yet begun, pregnancy cannot be ruled out; retesting after 1–2 days is advised.
