Severe eye pain and pressure indicate a diagnosis of glaucoma. I did not previously notice any discomfort in my eyes. What causes glaucoma?

This condition is easily triggered by factors such as emotional irritability. It results from anatomical features of the eye during development, combined with precipitating factors including irascibility, emotional agitation, and excessive fatigue. Angle-closure glaucoma commonly occurs at dusk, during overcast weather, or in cold seasons—particularly in winter, when intraocular pressure tends to be higher than in summer. Therefore, patients with a family history of glaucoma should pay close attention to weather changes and take extra precautions to stay warm during cold weather.
