Trachoma is not visible to the naked eye. This condition is caused by infection with *Chlamydia trachomatis* and commonly presents with conjunctival papillae, follicles, corneal pannus, and even cicatricial entropion. During the acute phase, oral azithromycin is administered; topical ophthalmic treatments—such as eye ointments containing tetracycline—may also be used. Proper ocular hygiene is essential to prevent infection, and personal items such as towels must be thoroughly disinfected to avoid reinfection.
