Can excessive liver fire cause premature graying of hair?
Disease description:
While combing my hair, I noticed many more gray hairs. My colleagues also frequently comment that I have more gray hairs than before. Could this be due to excessive liver fire? Does excessive liver fire cause gray hair?
Excessive liver fire typically does not cause premature graying of hair. Both excessive liver fire and liver qi stagnation can impair the Spleen, disrupting its normal physiological functions. If the normal function of the Spleen and Stomach is compromised, blood production (i.e., the transformation and generation of blood) becomes less active. Excessive liver fire is often associated with irregular sleep patterns. To alleviate excessive liver fire, it is recommended to go to bed before 11:00 p.m. and avoid staying up late.
