How to Treat Hydronephrosis and Kidney Stones
Disease description:
I’ve been experiencing persistent lower back pain and significant pain in the genital area during urination. After undergoing medical examinations, I was diagnosed with hydronephrosis and kidney stones. How should this condition be treated?
After the development of hydronephrosis and renal calculi, obstruction must generally be relieved to alleviate the hydronephrosis. If the renal calculus measures less than 1 cm in diameter, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) may be used for treatment. If the stone is larger than 1 cm, surgical removal is typically required. Following treatment, patients should take oral antibiotics under their physician’s guidance to prevent infection.
